Developing a Community College Student Roadmap
Developing a Community College Student Roadmap is designed to help community colleges create robust and proactive programs of academic support—tied to expected learning outcomes—that engage students at entrance and teach them, from the outset, how to become active partners in their own quest for educational success.
The Roadmap Project began in 2010 with twelve leadership institutions poised to become national models in supporting student success. With phase two, which began in January, 2013, the project expanded its network to include nineteen select community colleges that are are working to take what are often isolated and independent student success efforts and create integrated roadmaps to support both student persistence and higher levels of academic achievement.
Roadmap Phase Two
With continued funding from MetLife Foundation, the Roadmap Project has identified ten new community colleges to serve as leadership institutions in phase two of the project. Through a competitive selection process, these institutions demonstrated a focus on improving student learning outcomes and creating pathways to student success through evidence-based interventions and programs. The project activities for phase two will initially stretch over a six-month period beginning January 2013.
